How much does your education costs? What will you do if it comes back biting you in the arse? You think education in 1st world countries is a necessity?! It’s a costly privilege! Student loans, especially in the US, will always come back at you and eat you alive if you don’t plan ahead. Think twice.

The Harper government is excited for an oil spill in BC! Apparently they think tar sands are “ethical” source of energy. That’s the same tar sand (bitumen) that is a highly toxic form of crude oil. It contains sulphur, paraffins, asphaltics, benzenes, and other toxic compounds. Backward thinking at it’s finest! Might as well say we’re walking in the clouds and the earth’s above us.
The worst part is he’s giving it to Enbridge Energy (as if Kinder Morgan’s not enough!). Enbridge Energy is notorious for having constant oil spills. You wanna know what the fun part is?! A clean up for an oil spill averages about $40 billion and since these companies indemnified themselves and decline liability once these tanker ships are filled, if an oil spill happens… WE PAY FOR IT!!! Yes, WE, the tax payers pay for it! So yay, less money for us to take home. Not only that, a “clean up” only cleans about 10-friggin-% of the spill. The rest kills the very fabric of our eco system. And oh, one more thing, NASA’s James Hansen said that if the reliance on tar sands continues, there’s no way of keeping “carbon concentrations below 500 p.p.m.” Ergo, it’ll speed up global warming. In short, we’re happily paying them to slowly kills. GREAT!!!
Here am I thinking that the apocalypse will be brought to us courtesy of WWIII-battle of religions. Now, its clearly from the hands of GREEDY OLD MEN WITH POSITIONS still. I don’t know about you but I surely don’t wanna die yet, especially in the hands of these people. We can no longer use excuses such “we only live once” to pretend that it’s none of our business and that it’s the future generation’s burden because you know what, its not happening in their generation. It’s happening right now. Right here. Today!
So please, sign the petition to stop this madness! Let’s show these officials that we’re not puppets.
